Ranks in Aikido are a measure of progression between the student and
the instructor[s] and is not necessarily an indication of a student's
technical ability.
Techniques, etiquette, humble and
open mindedness, perseverance in training and the willingness to work
with lower ranked students are all possible criteria's in determining
a student's rank.
Tupelo Aikikai offers Junior, Adult, and Dan ranks through the
Takemusu Aikido Association. The requirements are cumulative and
only incremental requirements are listed for each rank.
